Buttercream

A soft, spreadable icing made from butter and sugar, used to frost and pipe decorations on cakes.

Cake Pop

A bite-size ball of cake mixed with frosting, coated in candy melts, and set on a stick.

Cookie Cake

A large, single cookie baked in a cake pan and decorated like a cake.

Drip Cake

A cake finished with a ganache or glaze drip running down the sides.

Dummy Cake

A foam or styrofoam display tier covered in real icing or fondant, used to add height without extra cake.

Edible Image Printing

A printed image on edible icing sheet, applied to the top or side of a cake.

Fondant

A smooth, pliable sugar paste used to cover cakes or sculpt decorations.

Naked Cake

A cake with little to no outer frosting, showing the layers and filling along the sides.

Sheet Cake

A single rectangular cake baked in a sheet pan, often used to serve a large number of guests affordably.

Sugar Flowers

Edible flowers hand-sculpted from gum paste or fondant, used as realistic cake decorations.

Tiered Cake

A cake built from two or more stacked layers of different sizes, often supported by internal dowels or plates.
